Two First Class graduates and alumni of the LSE, currently working in investment banking and law, will be providing a free, one-off lecture to students to reveal their secrets to successfully applying for internships and jobs at City firms.

Over the last two years, the speakers have undertaken an in-depth analysis of how their approach to applying for internships and jobs in the City enabled them to achieve much more success than many of their equally-able peers. It became evident that the most successful candidates were those who were most commercially aware and best informed about the recruitment process, industries and firms to which they were applying. These candidates were not necessarily those that might ordinarily be considered “best” for the job.

Together with the invaluable wealth of careers information and personal experience they have themselves amassed over the last six years, it was this revelation that drove them to provide current university students with a guide to kick-start their quest for a City career.

This talk is open to both members and non-members of the LSE SU Business Society, but will be most relevant to students considering careers in finance, law, consulting or accountancy.
